How ItIsMe handles your personal data — what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under Indian and EU privacy law.
How V2S Infosystem Private Limited collects, uses, shares and protects personal data through the ItIsMe platform — and the rights you have over that data.
Last updated: 18 September 2026
ItIsMe ("ItIsMe", the "Platform" or the "Service") is owned and operated by V2S Infosystem Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered and operational office at 2/352, Subhash Nagar, New Delhi – 110027, India ("we", "us" or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data across the website at itisme.in, the ItIsMe administrative dashboard, the ItIsMe Android application, the AI chat assistant, and every website published through the Platform.
It applies to two different groups of people, and the difference matters: Users, who register an account and publish a website with us, and Visitors, who browse a website that a User has published. Clause 2 explains our different responsibilities to each.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.
ItIsMe is a multi-tenant platform. Each User publishes their own website and decides what appears on it. That means we hold two distinct roles depending on whose data is involved.
| Whose data | Our role | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| User data — your registration details, profile, billing, dashboard activity | Data Fiduciary (Data Controller under GDPR) | We decide why and how this data is processed, and we are accountable to you for it directly. |
| Visitor data — enquiries sent through a User’s contact form, messages sent to a User’s AI chat assistant | Data Processor | The User who owns that website decides why and how this data is used. We only process it on their instructions, in order to run the Service for them. |
If you are a Visitor and you want your enquiry or chat message deleted, the website owner you contacted is your first point of contact, because it is their data. If you cannot reach them, write to us at support@itisme.in and we will assist and, where required by law, act ourselves.
If you are a User, you are the Data Fiduciary for the Visitor data your website collects. Clause 10 sets out what that means for you in practice.
Everything you add through the dashboard or the Android application, including your professional title, biography, skills, education and work history, projects, blog posts, images and gallery items, product and service listings, social media links, resume file, business details in Business Mode, and the knowledge you supply to your AI chat assistant. This content is published on your website and is intended to be public.
Paid Plans are billed through third-party payment gateways. Those gateways collect and process your card or payment details directly. We do not receive or store your complete card number. We retain only the transaction reference, amount, date, Plan and payment status needed for our records and for accounting obligations.
When a Visitor uses the AI chat assistant on a User’s website, we process the messages exchanged in order to generate a reply, to operate and secure the feature, and to detect abuse. Conversations may be retained for the period set out in clause 8 and may be visible to the website owner. Visitors should not enter passwords, financial account details, government identification numbers or health information into a chat assistant.
The Android application may request access to the following, and only in order to perform the function you have asked for:
You can withdraw any of these permissions at any time in your device settings. Doing so may disable the related feature. The application does not collect contacts, call logs or SMS messages.
We may receive limited information from our payment gateways (transaction status), our hosting and security providers (abuse and threat signals), and analytics providers. We do not purchase personal data from data brokers for marketing.
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") we rely principally on your consent and on legitimate uses permitted by that Act. For individuals in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the corresponding GDPR basis is shown alongside.
| Purpose | DPDP Act basis | GDPR basis |
|---|---|---|
| Creating and administering your account, reviewing your registration, publishing your website | Consent / certain legitimate uses | Performance of a contract |
| Processing payments and maintaining accounting records | Legitimate use — compliance with law | Contract and legal obligation |
| Operating the AI chat assistant and the Android application | Consent | Performance of a contract |
| Securing the Platform, preventing spam, fraud and abuse | Legitimate use | Legitimate interests |
| Providing support and responding to your requests | Consent / legitimate use | Contract and legitimate interests |
| Analysing usage to improve and stabilise the Service | Legitimate use | Legitimate interests |
| Sending product news, offers and marketing | Consent | Consent |
| Meeting legal, tax and regulatory obligations, and responding to lawful requests | Compliance with law | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, by writing to support@itisme.in or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal, and may mean we can no longer provide part of the Service.
We do not use your personal data to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on you by automated means alone.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the Platform, and understand aggregate usage. Our Cookie Policy explains the categories in detail.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the dashboard will not function. Websites published by Users may also load third-party content, which is covered by clause 13.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption of data in transit over SSL on every published website, validation of input at every form entry point, verification of uploaded files at the byte level, access controls limiting who on our team can reach production data, and routine encrypted backups.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly at support@itisme.in if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the DPDP Act, and where the GDPR applies, the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Published website content | Until you delete it or close your account |
| Deleted content in encrypted backups | Up to 30 days, then overwritten |
| Account and profile data after account closure | Deleted within 30 days |
| AI chat assistant conversations | Up to 12 months, unless deleted earlier by the website owner |
| Server, security and access logs | Up to 12 months |
| Payment and transaction records | As required by applicable tax and accounting law |
| Records needed for a legal claim or a regulatory request | Until the matter is concluded |
We may retain anonymised or aggregated information, which can no longer identify you, for longer in order to understand and improve the Service.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Write to support@itisme.in from your registered email address, or contact our Grievance Officer using the details in clause 14. We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting, in order to protect your data. There is no charge, unless a request is manifestly unfounded or repetitive.
If you publish a website through ItIsMe, you decide what personal data you collect from your Visitors and what you do with it. You are the Data Fiduciary for that data, and we act as your processor. Accordingly you agree that you will:
We will assist you, so far as reasonably practicable, in meeting these obligations, and will act on your documented instructions in relation to Visitor data unless we are required by law to do otherwise.
The Service is intended for individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child, and in accordance with the DPDP Act we do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children.
Where an account is created for a person under 18 by a parent or legal guardian, that parent or guardian is responsible for the account and for the content published through it. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without verifiable parental consent, write to support@itisme.in and we will delete it promptly.
Our infrastructure and the majority of our processing are located in India. Some of our service providers, such as email delivery, analytics and security vendors, may process limited personal data outside India.
Where personal data protected by the GDPR is transferred outside the EEA or the UK, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with additional safeguards where they are needed. Transfers out of India are made only to jurisdictions not restricted by the Central Government under the DPDP Act.
Websites published by Users, and pages on itisme.in, may link to or embed content from third parties, including social media platforms, video services and payment gateways. Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. Please review their policies before providing personal data to them.
In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, a Grievance Officer has been designated to receive and resolve complaints about how personal data is handled on the Platform.
