How to request deletion of your ItIsMe account and data, what we remove, what we are required to keep, and the timelines that apply.

You can request deletion of your ItIsMe account in either of these ways:
Because a deletion request permanently removes your data, we verify that it actually comes from you before acting on it. For an email request, we confirm this by replying to your registered email address and, where needed, asking you to confirm details only the account holder would know, such as your Domain Key or recent account activity. We do not act on a deletion request sent from any email address other than the one registered on the account.
Once a deletion request is verified, we delete your account and profile data — including your registration details, dashboard content, published website, projects, blog posts, gallery items, product and service listings, and your AI chat assistant configuration — within 30 days.
Deleted content may continue to exist in our routine encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which those backup copies are overwritten. This matches the retention schedule set out in our Privacy Policy.
We retain payment and transaction records — such as the transaction reference, amount, date, Plan and payment status — even after your account is deleted, because applicable Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep these records for a minimum period. We do not store your complete card details at any time; those are held by our payment gateway, not by us.
We may also keep information we are required to retain to meet a legal obligation, to respond to a lawful request from a court or authority, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, until that matter is concluded.
If you contacted a website built on ItIsMe through its enquiry form or its AI chat assistant, that data belongs to the website owner, not to us — they decide why and how it is used. To have an enquiry or a chat message deleted, please contact the website owner directly first. If you are unable to reach them, write to us at support@itisme.in and we will assist, and act ourselves where required by law.
If you have a question about this process, or a complaint about how your deletion request was handled, you can reach our Grievance Officer:
